Raohe lies in the northeast of Heilongjiang,locating at the lower reaches of Wusuli river, facing Russian Bikin across the river, with border length of 128km, to the north of Wanda Mountains, and to the south of Sanjiang plain, lt covers an area of 6765km2, goveming 4 towns, 5 townships, 5 state-run farms and 10 forestry farms with a population of 150000.
Raohe enjoys fertile land with abundant natural resources of forest,
field, grass, water and minerals, which is a natural green treasure,
covering a cultivated land of 200000 ha, forest resource of 351000 ha,
water area of 8000 ha, and grassland of 200000 ha, as the national key
base of commercial grains & economic crops.
In 1997, the State Council appraised Raohe as the national northeast
black-bee natural-protection region. At¡°the
33nd Int¡¯l Bee products Fair¡¯¡¯, its black-bee series of products won
the golden prize. In 1993, it was appraised as¡°the
Soybean production Base¡±, and in 1998, as¡°the
National Ecological Model Zone for Constructing Experimental Region¡± by
the State Council; and meanwhile, it was approved as¡°the
Organic Food Production Base¡± by the EU organic food organs; in 1999, it
was ¡°the
Good-Quality Specialized Wheat Base¡± by the provincial govemment; in
1999, as ¡°the
National Rare Fur Fine-Animal Breeding Base¡± by the State Council;
in May 2002,
as¡°the
Hometown Chinese Northeast Black-Bee Series production¡± conferred by
China Food Industry Association; and in 2003, winning the trademark of ¡°the
O-riginalRegion Product Protected¡± for its northeast black-bee.
Raohe port is the national Grade-A goods & passenger¡¯s port. So its
Party Committee & Govemment has pushed the strategic concept of ¡°playing
the namedbrand of port, and stepping on the frontier-trade way¡± . Upon
